Police Respond to Berkeley Protest Clashes

Brawls broke out between supporters of President Donald Trump and counter-protesters at Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park during a Patriots Day rally in Berkeley, California, on April 15.The rally was sponsored by the pro-Trump group Liberty Revival Alliance, reported The Los Angeles Times. This video shows the two groups clashing in the park, and there were reports of pepper spray used and firecrackers thrown into the crowd.At the time of writing, Berkeley police confirmed 13 people had been arrested and contraband has been seized. The protest and rally escalated as protesters took the streets, blocking a nearby intersection.The BART train also refused service at the dowtown Berkeley station due to a “civil disturbance.”
