Aly Raisman Doesn't Think Women Need to Be Modest to Earn Respect

Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman knows that you have to be pretty proud of your bod to post for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, and that’s exactly what she is.

But since she’s known as a gymnast before being a swimsuit model, of course she’s taken some criticism for wearing less than a leotard in magazines.

She tells Motto magazine, “I did the issue because I love my body. I can express myself in any way that I want… But that doesn’t give anyone the right to judge me. I think being a role model is about being a kind person.”

Yeah, you don’t think Aly knows a judge when she sees one? That’s what gymnastics has… Judges. She doesn’t need that from photoshoots too.

The 22-year-old tells the magazine, “It really made me realize that women do not have to be modest in order to be respected.

C’mon, if anyone knows how to perfectly balance being a role model, it’s Aly, a gold medal winning gymnast.
