Malala Yousafzai named youngest U.N. Peace winner ever

Malala Yousafzai is officially the youngest person to be named a U.N. Messenger of Peace. At 19 years old, she received the highest honor given by the United Nations for her work as an education activist for young women. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told Youdafzai that she’s not only a hero, but a “very committed and generous person.” Despite being shot in the head by a Taliban gunman in 2012 for her activism, she continued giving speeches across a global stage to inspire girls everywhere.
