NHL dips out of 2018 Olympic games in South Korea

Before the playoffs hit April 13, the National Hockey League (NHL) announced it would not be attending the 2018 Olympic games in South Korea. The decision came from pressure by ownership groups who were unhappy about the league taking time off to participate in the tournaments. The players favor Olympic participation and will most likely have an issue with the decision. In an effort to create clarity among conflicting reports and erroneous speculation, this will confirm our intention to proceed with finalizing our 2017-18 Regular Season schedule without any break to accommodate the Olympic Winter Games - NHL It is unclear whether or not the NHL will participate in the Olympics Games in Beijing come 2022.
