Secrets, intrigue, infidelity. How far would you go to have your desires fulfilled? Directed by Fernando Meirelles, Happily Ever After? tells the story of a couple in crisis. When the mysterious call girl Danny Bond comes on the scene, a crime of passion changes forever the lives of all involved.
Marília (Maria Fernanda Cândido) and Cláudio (Enrique Diaz) are the personification of the perfect couple: rich, beautiful and happy. Behind this façade they are two strangers living under the same roof. Since the accidental death of their son, the couple‘s relationship has not been the same. The difference is that Marília still hopes to win her husband back. And Cláudio just thinks about conquering the world.
When they begin psychotherapy to try and save their marriage, Cláudio suggests a ménage à trois as a way of spicing thing up. After hesitating for a long time, Marília finally agrees and they hire the mysterious Denise (Paolla Oliveira). During the day she is a fashion student and, at night, becomes the seductive Danny Bond, an expensive call girl.
To her own surprise, Marília finds in Danny a new kind of pleasure. Intent on getting more money, the call girl begins a relationship with both wife and husband. After a while Danny realizes she is also in love with Marília and asks her to leave her husband so they can stay together.
Amid all this turmoil, another secret is revealed. Cláudio had an affair with his sister-in-law Tânia (Adriana Esteves, Brazil Avenue), and the boy everyone thought was his nephew is in fact his son.
After realizing Cláudio manages a famous construction company which generates huge profits thanks to illegal government deals, Danny gathers incriminating data against the businessman and delates him to the Federal Police. This treason will have irreversible consequences.
Who will the victim be? And the villain? After all, in a story so full of secrets and infidelity, who can get away with it to live happily ever after?
