by Jeff DonlanA new art exhibition in Japan is designed to be controlled via the internet. “Avatars” is an installation of 16 different objects equipped with cameras, microphones, and microcomputers. Users log into the exhibit’s website to control the various objects and also have the option to interact with visitors at the exhibit. The creators of the installation wanted to personify everyday, non-autonomous objects.
