Uber's self-driving cars are back on the road in San Francisco
  • 7 years ago
After temporarily suspending their autonomous cars after an accident in Arizona, Uber is reinstating the service in San Francisco, though it remains suspended in Pittsburgh and Arizona. The cars are only in the testing phase so while they can drive autonomously, they currently have a human driver in the passenger seat who can take over if necessary. Initial reports from local police in Arizona seem to indicate that the self-driving car is not to blame, instead that another driver didn't yield to the Uber, which was in self-driving mode at the time.
