Senate just voted to sell your data without consent
  • 7 years ago
The Senate just voted to cease privacy rules to easily share personal information to broadband providers. The vote won on Thursday morning 50-48 to allow companies to see their customer’s usage information. The vote can profit internet service companies like Google, Facebook, Verizon, and AT&T. The current Federal Communications Commission’s rules allow websites to track personal data and sell it to advertising companies, but internet service providers still need permission before taking information. If the bill is passed by the House and signed by President Trump, consumer’s private information like social security, location, and browsing data will be shared.
