Hawaii Republican leader resigns from GOP to join Democratic Party

Hawaii Republican Rep. Beth Fukumoto announced in a letter that she will leave the GOP to join the Democratic Party. Her decision to leave was influenced by the criticism she’s received from the right. Rep. Beth Fukumoto Fukumoto served as the House minority leader from 2014 up until her resignation.
