‘Sesame Street’ is debuting their first Muppet who has autism, Julia. Julia was created for the show’s online Digital Storybook series in 2015, but will make her TV debut in April. Creators of the show consulted with organizations and experts in the autism community like the Autism Society of America in order to develop her character. Julia’s puppeteer, Stacey Gordon, has a son with autism and hopes that Julia will help children better understand his behaviors. Stacey Gordon
