John McCain Accuses Rand Paul Of ‘Working For Vladimir Putin'

On Wednesday, Sen. John McCain of Arizona accused colleague Rand Paul of “working for Vladimir Putin.”
On Wednesday, Sen. John McCain of Arizona accused colleague Rand Paul of “working for Vladimir Putin,” reports Politico.
The assertion came soon after McCain presented a bill to grant NATO membership to Montenegro, which recently foiled an attempted coup believed to be linked to Russia.
McCain requested the support of all, but Paul, a Republican senator from Kentucky, objected and then walked out of the room.
In response, McCain said, “That is really remarkable, that a senator blocking a treaty that is supported by an overwhelming number…would come to the floor and object and walk away."
He continued, “The only conclusion you can draw…is he has no argument to be made. He has no justification for his objection to having a small nation be part of NATO that is under assault from the Russians. So, I repeat again: The senator from Kentucky is now working for Vladimir Putin.”
Fox News reports that Paul has since released an explanation, noting that, at large, he opposes NATO expansion and the increased financial burden it would place on the United States.
