A funny video has emerged of a man pranking treasure hunters by burying a chest of chocolate coins and pretending to make a big discovery.

The footage, shot last year in the Philippines, shows people digging up a treasure chest and bringing it back to their village where a crowd gathered for the occasion.

When the treasure hunters open the chest it reveals gold-covered chocolate coins and and costume jewellery which were given to the children.

"It was a lot of fun and in the end I threw a party for all the people present and needless to say those kids enjoyed it and got lots of gold covered chocolate!" the filmer wrote online.

"Many still believe there is hidden gold from the Japanese occupation buried here and there in the Philippines," he added.
