Some folks are looking to make good on their promise to leave the country following Donald Trump's victory in the presidential election. The Associated Press reports that American applications for New Zealand citizenship have increased by 70 percent. New Zealand's Department of Internal Affairs website received just 305 citizenship-related visits in October 2016 compared to 4,146 visits in November. Citizenship applications after the election rose to 203 from 183 a year earlier. Most Americans who apply for New Zealand citizenship must first live in the country for five years.
