Earth's oceans are warming way faster than we previously thought
  • 7 years ago
New research has found that the Earth's oceans are becoming increasingly warm at a much faster rate than we initially thought. Figures suggest that the oceans are warming 13 percent faster, according to a new study. The research, published in the journal Science Advances, is based on ocean temperatures since 1960. According to the results, oceanic warming in 1992 was double that of in 1960, provoking extreme weather. Because more heat is being absorbed by oceans, oceanic warming is set to continue, causing an influx of floods and droughts.
