A man with a backpack has reportedly been arrested after breaching White House grounds on Friday night.
According to the Washington Examiner, “The intruder made his way near the South Portico entrance on the back side of the White House at around 11:38 p.m., before the intruder was discovered by a Secret Service agent.”
CNN reports that the man was arrested and that the White House was placed on a high security level orange; no other breaches were found after a search of the grounds.
President Trump was said to be in the building at the time and notified of the situation.
Meanwhile, Dianne Gallagher with CNN tweeted Saturday morning, “Secret Service says the White House grounds intruder's backpack was screened and found to be ‘free of any hazardous materials.’”
The suspect’s name has not yet been released.
