MS Dhoni's removal as the skipper of Rising Pune Supergiants was criticized by former Indian skipper Mohammad Azharuddin. Azhar lashed out on the franchises for the manner in which Dhoni was removed. Azhar said Dhoni is a jewel in Indian cricket and the way he was shown the gate was third-rate and disgraceful.
