PM Modi hails the spirit, dedication of women power | Oneindia News

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the indomitable spirit, determination and dedication” of women power on the occasion of International Women’s Day. PM Modi also said that the Centre is working towards to promote ‘economic empowerment’, ‘self-reliance’ and ‘social equality’ of women across the country. “Saluting the indomitable spirit, determination & dedication of Nari Shakti on International Women’s Day. PM Modi tweeted: Looking forward to addressing a conclave of women Sarpanchs & honouring trailblazers who have worked towards a Swachh Bharat,”. International Women’s Day was earlier known as the International Working Women’s Day. This day is celebrated as a salute to all the women from every economic and political background for their love, patience and hard work. It was celebrated for the very first time in 1909 as a social event in the city of New York. President Pranab Mukherjee had also conveyed his messages on the occasion of International Women’s Day saying generations of Indian women have made an invaluable contribution to the development and progress of the country. “On the occasion of International Womens Day, I extend warm greetings and best wishes to women in India and in all parts of the world,” he said in a message.
