The Nintendo Switch had an impressive launch on its opening weekend. According to Famitsu, the console sold 330,637 units it’s first three days in Japan. Compared to the opening weekend of Nintendo’s previous consoles, the Wii U sold 308,570 in 2012 and the Wii sold 371,936 in 2006. The game Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild that was released along with the Switch sold 190,060 copies in Japan (not including digital sales). The previous consoles were sold during the holiday season, while the Nintendo Switch has garnered a lot of attention for its new technology.
