Chance the Rapper donates $1M to Chicago schools

Following a meeting with Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner regarding public schools funding, Chance the Rapper decided to take matters into his own hands. Chance, whose real name is Chancellor Bennett, is donating $1 million to public schools in Chicago as a "call to action." Chance said in the news conference in Chicago. The city is facing a shortfall school budget after Rauner vetoed a bill that would give $215 million in pension relief to Chicago Public Schools. Former First Lady Michelle Obama even tweeted in support of the rapper.
