First Lady Melania Trump recently announced that tours of the White House will resume on March 7.
In a release, Mrs. Trump said, “I am excited to reopen the White House to the hundreds of thousands of visitors who come each year. The White House is a remarkable and historic site and we are excited to share its beauty and history. I am committed to the restoration and preservation of our Nation's most recognizable landmark."
The White House release about the reopening also notes, “Public tour requests must be submitted through a Member of Congress. Requests can be submitted up to three months in advance and must be submitted no less than 21 days in advance. All White House tours are free of charge.”
Those interested are encouraged to inquire sooner rather than later, as space is limited and granted on a “first come, first served basis.”
The White House Visitor’s Office has been closed since the inauguration, as management and staff had not yet been assigned, notes CNN.
