The Supreme Court said that it would not accept dropping of charges against BJP leader, L K Advani and others in the Babri Masjid case on technical grounds. The case is being heard by the Supreme Court after charges were dropped by a trial court in 2001.The court had on an earlier occasion too asked why conspiracy charges against Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and Kalyan Singh should not be restored. The trial court had dropped conspiracy charges and the same had been upheld by the Allahabad High Court in 2010. The CBI had filed an appeal in the Supreme Court after nine months. Advani and others sought dismissal of the appeal on the ground that there was a delay in the filing. On Monday the Supreme Court made it clear that it would not drop charges against Advani and others in the case on technical grounds.
