French President Hollande: 'Ultimate goal' is to prevent Republican Le Pen victory

French President Francois Hollande said his "ultimate goal" is to ensure that far-right presidential candidate Marine Le Pen does not assume power. "My ultimate duty is to make sure that France is not won over by such a program, and that France does not bear such a heavy responsibility," Hollande said during an interview with the press. Hollande's remark and interview were published by numerous media organizations in Europe. Le Pen, who many compare to Donald Trump, is one of the candidates in the lead to move onto the second round of elections.
