Indonesia, China, India and Brazil are the countries with the most threatened species. The California flag features the California grizzly bear. They became extinct in 1924. Natural extinction occurs at a rate of one to five species a year. We are currently losing dozens each day. 20% of the world's wildlife will be extinct within the next 30 years if extinctions continue at the current rate. There are a total of 2,599 species, subspecies, and sub-populations listed as critically endangered.
