U.S. unemployment claims rate drops

Last week, the amount of Americans filing for unemployment benefits fell to a new low that hasn't been seen in 44 years. The Labor Department said the amount of claims for unemployment benefits dropped 19,000 since the last report. The claims stayed at 223,000 in the last week in February, which to be under 300,000 is considered a healthy labor market. This has been the lowest level since March 1973. The tightening of the labor market and moderate economic growth contributed to the drop.
