At Tuesday night’s presidential address to Congress, first lady Melania Trump was welcomed with a standing ovation.

During the honor, she exhibited a degree of shyness that caught the attention of Judi James, an expert in body language.
James told The Mirror that she believes Melania could emerge as a Princess Diana sort of public figure.
James commented that, overall, the first lady, “is the show-stopper who looks terrified of stopping the show. The show is, of course, her husband's and he's not a man with a love of being upstaged.”
She further noted, “Her facial expressions during this moment under the spotlight ranged from Hollywood smile to micro-gestures of anxiety plus a more suprised-looking smile at the audience's apparent affection…Like Princess Diana she could find herself getting thrown into the spotlight to a point where she throws her alpha male hubby…into the shade."
Melania’s apparent reluctance to stand out is not new, according to Vanity Fair.
The media outlet notes that during the campaign, she stayed out of the public eye, limiting her public presence even during the release of the 2005 tape in which Donald Trump can be heard making sexually inappropriate comments about women.
Though she did offer him support, it was largely through the release of a statement.
Since becoming the first lady, she has made it abundantly clear her first priority is being a mother.
In that way, she is much like Princess Diana, who broke long-established norms to ensure her sons had as normal a life as possible, notes ABC News.
