Colon and rectal cancers rates rising sharply among Gen X and millennials

Rates of colon and rectal cancer, which overall have been declining for decades in the United States, are instead rising sharply among Americans under 55, according to a new study led by American Cancer Society. Because routine screening is generally not recommended for most people under 50, these cancers are often found in more advanced stages, too.
