Marijuana's Health Effects Scrutinized By Top Scientists

On Thursday The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine in Washington D.C. is calling for more research into the potential medical applications of cannabis and its products, which includes marijuana along with chemical components called cannabinoids. The use of marijuana for medicinal purposes has for years promised favorable results, but the Academy believes there is more work to be done. The timing of the recommendation is ironic as legislation has coerced heightened acceptance of marijuana and related substances across the nation.
