Auli'i Cravalho, star of Disney's Moana, was performing the song "How Far I'll Go" at the Oscars, when she was hit in the head by a prop. The dancers around Cravalho were holding flag-like props resembling the ocean, a theme for the new animated film. In the middle of the song, a dancer swung the prop too close to her face, accidentally hitting her. Despite getting hit, Auli'i continued singing, finishing the performance flawlessly.
