On Monday, President Trump tweeted another swipe at Sweden.
Over the weekend, President Trump received a great deal of flak for suggesting Sweden had experienced an attack at the hands of Muslim immigrants.
On Monday, he took another swipe at the nation, tweeting, “Give the public a break - The FAKE NEWS media is trying to say that large scale immigration in Sweden is working out just beautifully. NOT!”
It did not go well, either.
One person commented, “…you're calling the Swedish press fake too now?...” while another wrote, “Go to briefings and stop getting your news from conspiracy theorists.”
The back-and-forth stems from statements made by Trump during his Saturday rally in Florida, where he said, “We've got to keep our country safe...you look at what's happening last night in Sweden — Sweden, who would believe this?"
Notably, the nation was mentioned among numerous countries that have suffered terrorist attacks in recent times.
