When you see Britney Spears these days, it’s hard to flash back to 2007… Because her hair isn’t the only thing that’s made a big come back.
On Feb. 16, 2007, Britney famously took herself to a salon in Los Angeles and shaved her head in a desperate, physical cry for help.
She was 25-years-old at the time. The superstar was straight out of rehab, and in the midst of a divorce and custody battle for her two children with ex-husband, Kevin Federline.
For the next year, Britney was a tabloid disaster… She famously attacked a car with an umbrella, gave a lousy performance at the 2007 Video Music Awards, and became a growing concern for her fans.
Us Magazine reminds us that in Jan. 2008, she was hospitalized on a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold when she refused to turn her children over to their father.
Although Britney’s family reportedly tried to get her the help she needed, the fading superstar refused to seek treatment and had to be put on conservatorship to be taken care of.
Little by little, Britney returned to the spotlight and started to turn it all around. It hasn’t been perfectly smooth, but now that she has a residency in Vegas, new boyfriend Sam Asghari, and a successful ninth album… Britney creates positive buzz… Not buzz cuts.
