Footage of the aftermath of a coal mine explosion in Hunan Province, China that led to the deaths of at least eight people.

The video, filmed earlier today at the pit in Loudi, shows emergency vehicles and rescuers on the scene searching through the rubble for survivors.

At least three people are reportedly still missing.

According to local reports, coal mine explosions like this are all too common in China, which is the largest producer and consumer of coal in the world.

Hundreds of workers are killed every year working in the mines, usually due to explosions caused by leaking gas being ignited by some kind of spark.

The cause of this blast has not yet been confirmed.
