The Undertaker's devastating 'Gogoplata' Submission move

The gogoplata move, called Kagato-Jime in Judo, was re-invented by the Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter Nino Schembri. It is executed from a guard. Specifically, it is usually executed from a "rubber guard," where the legs are held very high, against the opponent's upper back. The fighter then slips one foot in front of the opponent's head and under his chin, locks his hands behind the opponent's head, and chokes the opponent by pressing his shin or instep against the opponent's trachea.

The Undertaker, began using a variation of the gogoplata, where he forces his opponents to spit blood from their throats. This variation is sometimes refered to as the "Figure Four" Choke or the "Death Valley Vice," though it has also been referred to by The Undertaker as Deadman's Judgment. Undertaker also had his title stripped from him on Friday Night SmackDown! on May 2, 2008 due to the Gogoplata being banned from WWE as ordered by Smackdown's General Manager Vickie Guerrero to protect her fiancé Edge, as well as other Smackdown superstars.
