Sandra Paovic won the Cadet Girls’ Singles title at the European Youth Championships in 1997, three years later she was the runner up in the Junior Girls’ Singles event. She represented Croatia at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and at eight World Championships between 1999 and 2008. She suffered a life threatening car accident on the outskirts of Paris on Friday 30th January 2009. After a long rehabilitation process she turned her attentions to Para Table Tennis in 2013. Playing in Class 6 she won the Women’s Singles title at the 2013 European Para Championships in Lignano and more recently at the 2014 ITTF World Para Championships in Beijing. In addition she has five career women’s Ssngles titles to her credit at International Para Tournaments.
