Tom Price has been confirmed by the Senate as the next secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. The 52 to 47 vote was along party lines. Price, a Republican from Georgia, is an orthopedic surgeon who strongly opposes the Affordable Care Act. Democrats opposed Price because of his dedication to repeal and replace Obamacare and his desire to make major changes to Medicare. Republicans support him for exactly those reasons as seen by House Speaker Matt Ryan's response.
