Shia LaBeouf's Anti-Trump Exhibit Just Got Shut Down
  • 7 years ago
Shia LaBeouf has been shut down.

That’s right, his controversial anti-Trump exhibit outside a Queens museum is no more because it has become – as they put it – a flashpoint for violence.

The museum released a statement saying that the installation created a serious and ongoing public safety hazard for the museum, its visitors, its staff, local residents and businesses.

They added that while the installation began constructively, it deteriorated markedly after one of the artists was arrested at the site of the installation and ultimately necessitated this action.

Shia dreamt up the idea and mounted a webcam on a wall outside Astoria’s Museum of the Moving Image titled, He Will not Divide Us, on President Trump inauguration day, and it he said it would be there 24/7 for the duration of his presidency.

Back in January, Shia was put in cuffs after a scuffle but returned to the installation after being released by the NYPD.

But the cops were close by.

The 114th Precinct set up a 24-hour patrol presence outside the museum.
