Stranded horse airlifted after being rescued by snowmobilers

A heartwarming video has emerged of a group of snowmobilers rescuing a stranded horse in the mountain in Idaho, USA.

The footage, shot last month, shows a helicopter approaching the scene with a hoist cable deployed.

The snowmobilers proceeded to attach the blindfolded horse to the cable for it to be lifted to safety.

"[On] January 17 2017 a search airplane located 2 horses on Boulder Mountain near McCall Idaho," the filmer wrote online.

"Rugged mountain terrain, deep snow, steep slope and remote location provided many challenges making rescue nearly impossible."

" Poor weather delayed rescue attempts, finally January 24 2017 a helicopter from nearby Riggins Idaho could access the location."

"The horse is doing well, Idaho horse rescue believes he will make a full recovery. Unfortunately the other horse was never located," he continued.
