BRAZIL — A church wedding in Brazil was thrown into complete chaos after a gate-crasher opened fire on guests during the ceremony.

7 Segundos reports that the horrifying incident happened on Monday afternoon, as a wedding took place inside a church in the Alagoas municipality of Limoeiro de Anadia. A video recording the ceremony shows the bride and groom marching down the aisle, unaware that a casually-dressed man was following behind.

The man, identified as Umberto Ferreira dos Santos, made his way to a pew, and reportedly called out to groomsman Edmilson Bezerra da Silva, 37. Reaching for a gun, he then blasted da Silva and his father, 62-year-old Cicero Barbosa da Silva, before walking away.

The two men were injured but are now recovering. A woman, believed to be the groomsman’s wife, was also grazed by a bullet.

Military police later looked for dos Santos but couldn’t find him in the area. Authorities are still searching for him, and have yet to determine a motive. Reports suggest though, that the attack may have been an act of revenge, as the groomsman was the main suspect in a murder.
