The actor said he was immediately drawn to the character of Kenny Wells in the film ‘Gold:’
“It’s not a guy that has a front row ticket to the American Dream. He’s going to finagle, sneak, hustle his way in the back door, come down the chimney somehow. He’s got nine lives… So that resilience, that largesse, a guy like this who consumes life as survival mechanism and then actually succeeds and gets it. It was a story that I’m like I gotta play that guy. I’m the only guy who can play this guy.”

Wells teams up with a geologist, played by Edgar Ramirez, they begin a journey to locate the god almighty gold in the jungle of Indonesia.

The film is a throwback to the golden age of Hollywood said Edgar Ramirez: “It is an adventure film with very classic aspects, with a very classic vibe and elements that I love. It reminds me of all those old Hollywood films, John Houston’s films, you like ‘The Treasure of the Sierra Madre,’ it has the gravitas, that weight and of course I feel very privileged to be in project that could remind people of that era.”
