It has long been debated whether or not Jack Dawson could have fit on the door with Rose at the heartbreaking end of “Titanic,” with many believing that Leonardo DiCaprio’s character should not have died. While doing an interview with The Daily Beast, The director explained that the only possible scenario in Titanic's script was to have Jack give up his place on the raft and his life for Rose (Kate Winslet). “His best choice was to keep his upper body out of the water and hope to get pulled out by a boat or something before he died.”
