Virtual Reality Transports Hospitalized Kids To A Christmas Wonderland

by Sara RaoHonda is using virtual reality technology to bring Christmas cheer to hospitalized children this holiday season. Using Oculus Rift headsets donated by Microsoft, the children are transported to a virtual sled ride through a wonderland called “Candy Cane Lane.”   At the end of the ride the children visit with a virtual Santa who delivers a present as a real gift is placed in the child’s lap. Honda has pledged to donate $1 to the children’s hospital for every Facebook like the video gets.
