Punjab official clarifies ban on Uber, Careem

Umar Saif, Chairman of Punjab IT Board and Cabinet Member, clarified that there was no ban on online transportation network companies Uber or Careem in the province. His explanation comes hours after an internal memo of the Punjab transport ministry went viral on social media, according to which both Uber and Careem were declared to be illegal. Speaking in SAMAA's prime-time talk show "Nadeem Malik Live" Mr. Saif said that the Punjab government was reviewing a proposal to regulate the two video-hailing companies.
