REVEALED: 2017 Suzuki GSX-RR MotoGP motorbike

Suzuki has revealed its 2017 MotoGP contender, the GSX-RR - get the lowdown on all the specifications and features of the bike the Japanese manufacturer hopes will build on its race-winning 2016 campaign.

Suzuki's all new line-up of ex-Ducati rider Andrea Iannone and rookie Alex Rins were on hand to pull the wraps off the 2017 GSX-RR at Sepang on Sunday ahead of pre-season testing.

Suzuki is rebooting its MotoGP project, just two seasons after its grand prix return, following the loss of star rider Maverick Vinales to rivals Yamaha.

Vinales gave Suzuki its first MotoGP win since 2007 last season on his way to fourth in the world championship, but the temptation to join Valentino Rossi in the multi-title winning factory Yamaha team proved too great to resist.

The latest GSX-RR features the now familiar blue and yellow colour scheme, with main branding from in-house oil Ecstar.

Technically, the new bike is described as an evolution of the capable 2016 machine, with revisions made to the engine, chassis and especially electronics. However, due to the four podiums Vinales achieved in 2016, Suzuki is no longer eligible for concessions, meaning less engine changes, private testing and no in-season engine development.
