Germany and UK oppose Trump's temporary immigration ban
  • 7 years ago
Germany's Angela Merkel and Britain's Theresa May blasted President Trump for implementing a temporary immigration ban. Merkel spoke out saying it's “not justified to put people from a specific background or faith under general suspicion” in order to prevent terrorism. Theresa May, who recently met with Trump, sided with Merkel on the issue. Merkel and Trump spoke by phone on Saturday for the first time since his inauguration. “We do not agree with this kind of approach and it is not one we will be taking,” May said of the executive order.
