Trump wants swift Republican legislation as Philadelphia protests

American President Donald J.Trump addressed Republicans in Philadelphia to hammer out a legislative agenda with the party in control of the White House, Senate and House of Representatives.
Trump called on Congressional Republicans to move quickly to build the Mexican border wall, agree tax cuts and scrap Obamacare.

Trump broke with tradition, again when he avoided the usual question-and-answer session with elected representatives.
As Trump held centre stage at the Lowes Hotel.
Thousands took to streets of Philadelphia, a Democratic stronghold, to demonstrate against the Trump presidency.

Protesters made their feeling plain on a number of issues including the environment,abortion and Obamacare.

Speaking on 6abc Action News WPVI Philadelphia one protester asserted that:
“It’s really empowering. I think it shows that we as Americans and as Philadelphians care about each other, we care about immigrant lives, we care about education, and it’s really important that we feel we need to make our voices known.”
Police say the protests have been peaceful.
