Elite Iraqi troops await orders to retake west Mosul

Iraqi troops were awaiting orders to enter the western part of Mosul as commanders planned a strategy to tackle the IS-controlled west bank of the city, which is home to the narrow streets of the Old Town and some of the jihadists' bastions. Neighbourhoods on the eastern side of the city have been retaken from the jihadists.
