Trump vows federal intervention to fix 'horrible carnage'
President Donald Trump vowed to send federal law enforcement to Chicago to put a halt on the growing homicide rate. Trump posted a similar message on Twitter on January 2, warning Chicago's mayor to ask for federal help if he can't control violence in the city. In the past year, Chicago had 762 homicides, in addition to more than 4,000 shooting victims. Chicago endured more homicides last year than the New York City and Los Angeles combined, both of which are larger than Chicago.
