Amid the intense happenings in Washington since Donald Trump's inauguration, the Obamas are quite far from it all - literally.
According to the Virgin Islands Daily News, "Former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, arrived in the British Virgin Islands at 8:47 p.m. Monday...before being whisked away to Richard Branson’s private celebrity hot spot, Necker Island, for a vacation."
After Trump's inauguration on Friday, they had spent some time in Palm Springs, California before heading to the island.
The retreat's website describes the luxury spot as, "Sir Richard Branson’s private island paradise in the British Virgin Islands, a stunning and unspoilt area of the Caribbean. At 74 acres, Necker sits in turquoise waters surrounded by coral reefs and fringed with beautiful white sandy beaches."
Not surprisingly, it's a popular holiday destination for many celebrities and the past guest list includes Kate Moss, Robert De Niro, Mariah Carey, and Kate Winslet, according to PEOPLE.
It has not been revealed how long the Obamas will stay at Necker Island.
A few weeks before leaving the White House, when President Obama was asked about his post-presidency plans at a press conference, he had said, in part, "...what I do know is that I have to take Michelle on vacation."
