Snacpchat made a major statement on Monday against fake news, editing its guidelines for its Discover service. According to The New York Times, publishers on the Discover platform are banned from posting "questionable" pictures that lack editorial or news value. Additionally, all the content must be accurate and fact-checked and eliminating the gray area in the guidelines that would have allowed publishers to use links from fake news sites. The move comes just ahead of an IPO from Snap, Snapchat's parent company.
