Clippers' Chris Paul to have surgery on torn ligament in left thumb

Injuries continue to mount for the LA Clippers as Chris Paul will be sidelined to have surgery for a torn ligament in his left thumb. Paul is expected to miss approximately six-to-eight weeks and will continue to undergo treatment and evaluation by the Clippers medical staff, the team announced. Paul sustained the injury during the second quarter of the Clippers' 120–98 win over the Thunder on Monday and did not return to the game. He will have surgery Wednesday. The nine-time All Star is averaging 17.5 points, 9.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game for Los Angeles.
