First Look: VICTORY CARBON TRAD
These new “wood like” arrows from Victory aren’t wood at all. They’re a carbon core shaft overlaid with linen, a natural fiber woven from flax. They’re tipped with 80-grain stainless steel inserts and factory hand fletched. The linen process, I was told, comes from violin manufacturing where it’s used for sound dampening. The result is a deep wood smell when you zip the end on an arrow saw, and a unique woody texture on every shaft—but with none of the downsides of cedar. The shafts have a small .204 diameter, are weighted within .5 grains of each other, and are available in .003 and .006 spine variations. 350, 450, and 550 spines run 11.7-, 11.4-, and 11 grains per inch, respectively.
